Dr. Concannon hosted his First Annual Worker’s Compensation Conference on May 12, 2010.

85 insurance adjusters, case managers and employers were in attendance to hear presentations from: Mattew J. Concannon, MD, Eddie Runde, MD, Mike Nogalski, MD, David Flood, MD, Kathy Nelson, CHT and Mike Fallwell.

Topics included causation, shoulder injuries, knee injuries, post offer employment screenings and injuries to the hand, wrist and elbow. The event was co-hosted by The Work Center, Inc, a physical and occupational therapy facility specializing in providing rehabilitation services for injured workers.

Comments from conference attendees included: ”Thanks for inviting our office, I enjoyed the presentations and gained knowledge for use at my office”, “Great Conference, Very useful information.” And, “This was wonderful! So much information that was worth hearing; everyone should have heard this. All will help with my job task! Thank you so much.” In addition to being a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Concannon carries an additional certification in surgery of the hand. Following his Residency at the University of Missouri, he completed a Fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Hand and Microsurgery. He also served a clinical instructor at Harvard. Since that time, Dr. Concannon has authored two text books: “Common Hand Problems in Primary Care” and “Hand Pearls,” which serves as a reference for many family medicine and emergency room physicians.

At Concannon Plastic Surgery, Dr. Concannon focuses a significant part of his practice on taking care of acute traumatic injuries to workers, as well as, chronic conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow.
